  • This is an inevitable tribute to the epic Shadowland song from The Lion King Broadway musical. Just about every Lion King fan has one. My favorite implementation is Jamala’s, it’s very expressive.

    This is an inevitable tribute to the epic Shadowland song from The Lion King Broadway musical. Just about every Lion King fan has one. My favorite implementation is Jamala’s, it’s very expressive.

    I didn’t want to follow the common template because there are better implementations of it already. I recalled that the gorge goes into the same direction in which Simba left Pride Lands and Nala did too because she met him. So I figured out that Nala would go past the very spot where Mufasa was killed and she thought Simba was too. So this is her looking at that place and remembering better times, when the land was prosperous, when hyenas were distant, when Mufasa was king, when Simba was alive…

    The background was kinda-sorta referenced from a screenshot. I wonder how many Nala pics can I pull off until I run out of plots or things to practice.
